About the Speaker

  • Kristi Cherney

    Chief Client Officer

    Kristi Cherney holds an accounting degree, various certifications through the Wellness Council of America, has spent time volunteering for Feed My Starving Children and is a current member of Osceola Medical Center’s Advisory Council. With over a decade of experience, Kristi has had an eclectic upbringing to her approach in wellness, wellbeing, total rewards, healthcare management and leadership. Her career in this industry began with employee assistance and work-life balance programs for organizations ranging from 50-5,000 employees. Development of her knowledge-base in wellbeing continued through the participation in an organizational acquisition and build-out of boutique health coaching programs leveraging motivational interviewing to drive long-term outcomes that exceeded industry average. Kristi had the unique opportunity to continue to grow in population health management expertise, with guidance from Nico Pronk, a world-known industry leader in effective population health management strategies. While working for HealthPartners, Kristi gained experience with onsite clinics, onsite health coaching and program management, strategic planning related to wellbeing programs and integration with health plans. She joined JA Counter in 2015 and works as the Chief Client Officer in the Employee Benefits Department, overseeing the account management team and ensuring satisfaction in client experience. As an advanced Account and Wellness Manager, she assists clients with selection, implementation and administration of their employee benefits packages. Kristi is focused on bringing practical solutions to organizations regarding health management, cost control, recruitment and overall culture that supports the wellbeing of employees; encouraging a win-win approach to reducing healthcare costs.
  • Jamie Pearson

    Account Manager

    As an Account Manager for JA Counter, Jamie specializes in supporting small employers (with less than 50 employees) to provide consultation, service and support through their total rewards journey. She helps to align their benefit options with their long-term business goals, while supporting the employers and employees with day-to-day insurance and benefit questions, claims, billing issues and any other questions. Jamie has worked in the insurance industry in various capacities, including as a Patient Education Coordinator at a health clinic and as an Operations Coordinator in a human resources department. She serves on the Patient and Family Partner Council Board for Westfields Hospital and volunteers for the Ronald McDonald House and as a volunteer Oncology Massage Therapist at Abbot Northwestern and Regions Hospital. Jamie enjoys reading, running with friends and cheering on the Twins during games.
  • Amy Measner

    Account Manager

    Amy Measner is a large group account manager for JA Counter. She comes to us from years of account management and customer service experience, five years of insurance background and was previously self employed as a small business owner. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration and Management. Amy's day to day responsibilities will mimic the needs of the clients she works with: assisting large group employers with guidance on benefit selection, implementation and administration of benefit packages, and providing benefits education, resources and support for employers and employees. Amy holds licenses for Life, Health and Property and Casualty in Wisconsin. She lives in New Richmond with her husband and twin daughters. Outside of work, Amy can be found enjoying the outdoors--watching sports, hiking, campfires, four-wheeling and gardening. She also enjoys volunteering for her local church and community.
  • Alicia Schwartz

    Account Manager

    Alicia is an Account Manager assisting with large group clients, specializing in public sector. She provides guidance on benefit selection, implementation and the administration of benefit and total reward packages. Alicia’s goal is to present benefits in a way that is easy to understand and provide the best education and resources for employers to stay competitive in the hiring process and maximize healthcare dollars. Alicia has been working in the insurance industry for 17 years with a majority of that time spent in the individual captive industry. Alicia holds her insurance licenses in MN and WI for Life, Health and Property and Casualty. She lives in New Richmond with her husband and three sons, She enjoys working on her home, in her garden, attending to her 18 chickens and volunteering in the community.
  • Rachel Lange

    Account Manager

    Rachel brings the JA Counter team 8 years of service assisting advisors in the financial services industry. Her primary role at JA Counter is to support large groups with account management in their benefit package and total reward options and benefit administration. Rachel specializes in assisting groups based on their individual needs and working directly with the group’s benefit consultant. Rachel will provide benefit and utilization education to employees and employers, as well as assist with inquiries and questions. Rachel has an Associates in Arts Degree and is a member of Toastmasters. She lives in New Richmond and enjoys baking and spending time with her family, friends and 2 energetic dogs.
