John joined the firm in 1986.

Education

John earned a degree from Trinity College and holds industry designations as an Employee
Benefit Specialist (CEBS) and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). He is a member of the
International Foundation of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists, the American Society of
Chartered Life Underwriters, the National Association of Health Underwriters and the
Connecticut Benefit Brokers.

Business, Community & Civic Organizations

John brings strategic perspective through his service on the boards of several institutions. He
serves as Co-Managing Partner and on the Board of Directors of the Benefit Advisors Network
(BAN), a consortium of 65 independent benefit advisors with annual revenues of over $300
million. He also serves on the Board of the National Benefit Center, an insurance service and
product distribution company headquartered in Cleveland.

John served on the board of VNA Health Care, Inc. from 1994-2002, and was chair from 1999 to
2002. He rejoined the board in 2011 and was Board Chair for 2013-2014. VNA Health Care
provides home care and related services and has annual revenues of over $80 million.
He also served on the Board of Renbrook School in West Hartford from 1998-2006 and was
chair from 2003-2006. He co-chaired Renbrook’s Setting the Course:The Endowment Campaign
from 2007-2010..

John served on the Financial Committee of the Connecticut Health First Authority, an entity
authorized by the Connecticut General Assembly to evaluate and recommend healthcare reform
initiatives for the state.

He is active in other community and industry organizations and is a Corporator for both Hartford
Hospital and Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center.
